Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kay Ector (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ector might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Monster!. Spiteri has chosen AC/DC -TNT as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kay Ector!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Spiteri!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ector keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Spiteri.
Spiteri has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ector is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Ector looks to land a right hand but Spiteri moved out of range.
Ector on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ector fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Spiteri manages to avoid it.
Spiteri will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
As Spiteri backs away, Ector returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Spiteri has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Spiteri there as he acknowledges the shot.
Spiteri changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Spiteri swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ector counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ector throws a chopping leg kick but Spiteri manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Ector throws a front kick aimed at Spiteri's knee but Spiteri avoids it well.

Spiteri moves out of range of the body kick.
Ector is looking to clinch but Spiteri is avoiding it.
No joy there for Ector, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Spiteri throws a jab when Ector was well out of range.
Spiteri keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spiteri swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Ector works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Spiteri throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ector misses with a right hand
and Spiteri counters with a left to the body.
Spiteri shoots in but no luck this time.

and Spiteri counters with a shoot takedown. Ector fights it but they end up in guard.

Ector tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spiteri was well out of range. Poor timing from Ector.

Ector throws a lazy right hand but Spiteri sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ector looks to land a left hand but Spiteri moved out of range nicely.

Ector throws a lazy head kick
and Spiteri counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Spiteri attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Spiteri lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Spiteri is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ector rather than just go for the knockout.

Spiteri dips to his left and cracks Ector with an uppercut!

Ector has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spiteri can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Spiteri avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Spiteri drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ector defends it well.
Ector's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ector duly obliges.


It looks like Dave Spiteri has been cut.

Spiteri drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ector gets the underhooks and prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spiteri lands with a nice combination. Ector backs away looking to recover.
Spiteri shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ector as he avoids it easily.

Spiteri swats away the attempt to clinch by Ector.
Ector dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kay Ector is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Spiteri misses with a few strikes there.
Spiteri takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Spiteri fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ector goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ector moves out of range of the strikes.
Ector tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spiteri paws at him with a jab and circles away.
It seemed like Spiteri was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Ector wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Ector takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Ector takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Spiteri seems to have recovered his senses.

Ector takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Spiteri misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Spiteri slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Spiteri is looking to work some ground and pound but Ector has wrist control.

Spiteri keeps control of Ector as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Spiteri has hold of one of Ector's legs. Ector is fighting the takedown attempt but Spiteri gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Spiteri postures up in Ector's guard and throws a big left but Ector blocks it.
Dave Spiteri has got the better of the ground game so far.
Spiteri stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ector swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Spiteri has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ector can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Spiteri controls the pace.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

I've got Spiteri winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
