Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aidan Madison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edvin Rinne!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rinne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A short right from Rinne.

Rinne pulls Madison into guard.
Rinne is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Madison might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rinne keeping moving, preventing Madison from controlling successfully.

Madison trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rinne's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rinne isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Madison stacks Rinne on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Madison!
Rinne is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Madison's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Madison wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Rinne uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Rinne had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Madison defends it easily.
Rinne bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Madison's guard.

Rinne's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rinne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madison swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Rinne wants to control from the top but Madison keeps moving.
Rinne pushes down on Madison's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Madison is looking to control Rinne's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Madison avoid being mounted?

Rinne is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Madison doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rinne.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Still in half guard, Rinne seems content to control.
Rinne wants to advance to full mount but Madison doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Rinne has gone for a leg lock! Madison slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rinne's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rinne is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Madison is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Madison throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Madison fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rinne manages to avoid it.

Aidan Madison is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Madison seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Horrible takedown attempt by Rinne or perhaps it was just good defense by Madison, which made it look bad.
Rinne lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Madison throws a body shot but no joy.
And Rinne tries to counter it with a takedown but Madison pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Rinne has a takedown stuffed.
Madison swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Aidan Madison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edvin Rinne.
Rinne shoots in but Madison avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Madison defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rinne.
It looked like Madison was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Rinne closes the distance and clinches.
Madison dodges an elbow strike from Rinne.
Rinne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rinne can't get the takedown.

Rinne is working for takedown but Madison is calmly controlling the position for now.

Rinne's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Rinne gets control of Madison's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rinne will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That was a close second round but I would say that Aidan Madison will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Rinne defending well as Madison loads up on a big left hand.
Rinne lands a nice shot that snaps Madison's head back.
Rinne fails with a takedown attempt.
Madison lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rinne circles away quickly and effectively.

Rinne closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rinne is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Madison has escaped the position, nice work there.

Rinne swings around for an armbar but Madison sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rinne's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Rinne wants to sweep here but Madison controlling him for the moment.

Rinne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Madison can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
