Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Bandy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Jones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wesley Bandy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandy is looking to clinch.

Bandy takes the fight into the clinch.
Bandy goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jones prevents it.
Bandy prevents a takedown attempt there.

Bandy drags the fight down to the ground.
Bandy wants to control but Jones passes easily into half guard.
Bandy is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Jones is looking for a kimura here.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bandy is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bandy wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bandy has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Bandy is defending well.

Jones seems to be working for a kimura but Bandy defends the submission attempt.
Bandy trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.

Bandy is looking to escape.

Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bandy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones.
Bandy desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Bandy tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bandy is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.
Bandy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bandy regains full guard. Nicely done.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bandy wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bandy is defended easily by Jones.
Bandy looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Bandy. Bandy gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wesley Bandy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bandy wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jones has a takedown stuffed.
Bandy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
Bandy tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bandy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones feints the counter takedown.
Bandy leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bandy shoots in but no luck this time.
Bandy tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bandy's waist but Bandy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.

Bandy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Bandy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones is looking to control Bandy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted?
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jones is refusing to be controlled, as Bandy sits in half guard.
Bandy is thwarting Jones's attempts to control the position.
Jones trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Bandy manages to pass to mount!

Bandy lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on?
Bandy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
Wesley Bandy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bandy is landing with some decent strikes but Jones is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bandy pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Bandy looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jones tries to hold on but Bandy pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bandy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Bandy trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Jones leaves Bandy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bandy avoids it really well and circles away.
Bandy feinted with a counter takedown.
Jones has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones fails with the takedown.

Bandy drives through and clinches with Jones against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Wesley Bandy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Jones.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bandy jumps into guard, dragging Jones to the mat.

Bandy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Jones drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Jones seems to have locked his on tight now - Bandy screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Jones, as he picks up the win!
