Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Suzuki Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nico Roso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suzuki Lesnar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suzuki Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nico Roso!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roso as he jumps to the side.
Roso throws a series of punches but Lesnar moves out of range.
Lesnar is looking to counter punch.

Lesnar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Roso to the ground. Lesnar is now in Roso's guard.
Roso can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lesnar controls the pace.
Lesnar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Roso is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lesnar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lesnar is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lesnar passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lesnar tries to advance to mount but can't.
Lesnar staying calm.
Lesnar throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Roso works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Lesnar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Roso's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lesnar is controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lesnar thows a left - swing and a miss!
Lesnar misses with a looping left.
Roso misses with a wild combination.

Lesnar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lesnar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lesnar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Roso looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lesnar tries to move into full mount but can't pass Roso's legs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Suzuki Lesnar dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Lesnar closes the distance and clinches.
Come on Lesnar - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Roso stops a takedown attempt from Lesnar.
Lesnar taking a breather.
Lesnar is trying to drag Roso to the mat but Roso just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Roso on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lesnar has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Roso is trying to keep an underhook but Lesnar manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Lesnar is working for a submission of some sort.
Lesnar working over Roso with some ground and pound. Roso looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Lesnar wants to free his trapped foot but Roso is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Roso is breathing heavily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lesnar content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Lesnar wants to pass the guard but Roso is defending well.
Lesnar missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lesnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Roso with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lesnar drops an elbow to the side of Roso's head.

Roso looks like he's trying to stand up.

Lesnar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Lesnar missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lesnar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lesnar lands in his opponent's guard.
Lesnar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lesnar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Roso for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Suzuki Lesnar dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Lesnar forces Roso back against the cage and clinches.
Roso looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lesnar is stalling here.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lesnar takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Lesnar wants a takedown but no success here.
Lesnar drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Roso gets the underhooks and prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lesnar is trying to trip Roso. He has hold of a leg but Roso is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lesnar persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Lesnar looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Lesnar tries to free his leg and advance position but Roso is retaining full guard.
Roso takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Roso is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lesnar is controlling him.
Lesnar content to stall in guard here.
Lesnar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lesnar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lesnar distracts Roso with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Suzuki Lesnar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lesnar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Lesnar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Lesnar winds up and cracks Roso with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Lesnar stalling.

Lesnar moves nicely into side control.
Lesnar working the head with strikes.
Roso is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Lesnar misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Roso is trying to escape the position but Lesnar is controlling the position.
Lesnar scores with a couple of short elbows.

Lesnar is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Roso's shoulder. That is not cool.
Lesnar continues to stall.
Lesnar works to advance to full mount. Roso defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
BOOM! Lesnar connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Lesnar lands a heavy elbow.


Roso is rocked!
Lesnar controlling the pace for now.
Nico Roso has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
More hug and hope from Lesnar.

And that's the end of the fight!
Suzuki Lesnar showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lesnar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
