And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Yen!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yen works over Fertus's head and body with a nice combination.
Yen thows a leg kick but Fertus checks it
enabling Fertus to counter with a crisp jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yen. Fertus does a little dance to reset his feet.
Yen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Fertus looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Yen lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Fertus misses with the combination.
Yen misses with a takedown attempt
and Fertus counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fertus rushes Yen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Fertus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Yen lets loose with a powerful body kick. Fertus will feel that in the morning.
Yen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Yen scores with a head kick. Fertus tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Yen throws a wild body kick that Fertus sees coming a mile off.
Yen doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Fertus to counter with a crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fertus circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fertus looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Yen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Yen scores with a kick to the body.
Yen lands a nice hook to Fertus's body. Fertus takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Nice body kick from Yen.

Oooooh!!! Yen has knocked Fertus down with a huge combo! Yen steps away and waves a wobbly Fertus back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Fertus is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yen connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Fertus covering up! Yen comes in with a big uppercut and Fertus goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
