Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arnoldo Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arnoldo Rojas has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Arnoldo Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dan Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bennett shoots in but Rojas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rojas seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Rojas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bennett did well to prevent Rojas getting side control.

Bennett is defending against the submission attempts here by Rojas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rojas is looking for a kimura here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rojas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rojas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bennett is just riding it out for now. Rojas eventually gives up the hold.

Rojas winds up and cracks Bennett with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rojas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bennett with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rojas is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rojas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bennett trying to hold on to Rojas's head to control him but Rojas postures up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bennett avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rojas.

Bennett is defending against the submission attempts here by Rojas.

Bennett actively working from the bottom here.

Rojas wants to work for an arm triangle but Bennett is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Rojas is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bennett has managed to free his arm - good work.

Rojas is thwarting Bennett's attempts to control the position.
Bennett might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rojas haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Rojas decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
A combination from Bennett does no damage.
Bennett connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rojas swats away the attempt to clinch by Bennett.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bennett gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rojas to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Rojas cracks Bennett with a solid left hand.
Bennett wants to get back to his feet but Rojas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rojas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bennett looks winded!
Bennett is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rojas decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Rojas takes a shot right to the bread basket.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arnoldo Rojas dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Rojas drives through with a takedown into Bennett's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Rojas gets to his feet - Bennett follows without any prompting.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bennett.
A combination from Bennett does no damage.
Bennett tries a low kick but Rojas avoids it.
Bennett changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Bennett looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rojas gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Rojas drags the fight down to the ground.

Rojas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bennett manages to get himself to full guard.

Bennett is breathing heavily.

Rojas stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Bennett goes for a double leg but Rojas avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rojas continues to drive forward.
Rojas slips under a jab.
Rojas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It looked like Rojas was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Bennett tries to clinch but fails miserably

so Rojas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bennett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rojas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rojas stands up and waves to Bennett to follow him.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bennett.
Dan Bennett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bennett throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rojas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rojas is trying to work for a kimura but Bennett is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rojas is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Bennett is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
