Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Amber Ale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimiros Filipou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vladimiros Filipou is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Amber Ale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimiros Filipou!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipou fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Filipou tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ale defends well and Filipou ends up having to push Ale into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Amber Ale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimiros Filipou.

Ale is working for a submission of some sort.
Ale seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Filipou does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ale is thwarting Filipou's attempts to control the position.
Ale wants to lay and pray for a moment but Filipou keeps working.

Ale is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Filipou defends it well.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Filipou is not content to let Ale control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ale stuffs the takedown.
Filipou just misses with a punch to the body.

Ale thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ale accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ale wants to free his trapped foot but Filipou is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ale scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Ale wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Filipou, who protects the arm well.

Ale is trying to get an arm triangle but Filipou is defending well.

Ale cracks Filipou with an elbow. That is naaassty.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Filipou gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've been informed that Filipou has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ale changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Filipou looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Filipou is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ale goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Filipou rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ale's guard! Nice work there by Filipou!

Ale is really struggling to control Filipou but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Horrible takedown attempt by Filipou or perhaps it was just good defense by Ale, which made it look bad.

Ale closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Filipou quickly recovers to half guard.
Amber Ale is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Filipou takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
