Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kermit Earlandson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Ngo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Earlandson comes into the arena with the theme from titanic blaring out of the sound system. Kermit Earlandson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Ngo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Earlandson shoots in but Ngo avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Earlandson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Earlandson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ngo defends it well.
Ngo is trying to get back to full guard.
Ngo gets full guard.
Ngo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Earlandson's guard.

Ngo trying to control the position from guard on top but Earlandson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Earlandson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ngo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Earlandson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ngo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Earlandson sees it coming and defends easily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ngo connects with a nice short shot to Earlandson's temple.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Earlandson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ngo pulls his head out easily.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Ngo working his ground and pound in the gym.
Earlandson won't allow Ngo to pass to mount.
Ngo passes to side control.
Ngo controls the position.

Ngo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Ngo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Earlandson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Earlandson tries to buck Ngo off but Ngo is having none of it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Earlandson wants to control but Ngo postures up.

Ngo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Earlandson!

Ngo trying to control the action but Earlandson is working from the bottom.
Ngo is pressing down on Earlandson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Earlandson is holding on for now.
Ngo is keen to just control but Earlandson is a slippery customer.
Ngo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Earlandson's head.

Ngo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Earlandson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ngo wants to take a breather but Earlandson is having none of it.

Ngo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Henry Ngo dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ngo misses the shot to the body.
Nice sprawl there from Ngo as Earlandson shoots in.
Ngo has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ngo there as he acknowledges the shot.
Horrible takedown attempt by Earlandson or perhaps it was just good defense by Ngo, which made it look bad.
Ngo throws a sloppy head kick and Earlandson moves out of range easily.

Earlandson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ngo to the ground. Earlandson is now in Ngo's guard.

Ngo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Earlandson is aware though and is defending well.
Ngo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ngo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Earlandson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ngo defends it easily.
Ngo throws a strike but Earlandson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ngo kicks Earlandson off and gets to his feet.
Earlandson shoots in for a takedown but Ngo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Earlandson shoots in for a double leg but Ngo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ngo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Earlandson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ngo scores with a couple of nice shots.
Ngo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Ngo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Earlandson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Henry Ngo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ngo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
