Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Geoffrey Barbossa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Barbossa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 5 Pirate Myths That Actually Are True. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris darts in trying to clinch
and Barbossa counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Harris is looking to clinch but Barbossa is avoiding it.
Harris doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Barbossa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Harris moves into the clinch.
Barbossa fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Hector Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harris lands a big uppercut and Barbossa crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Barbossa looks OK. Harris waves Barbossa back to his feet!

Barbossa fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Harris has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Barbossa has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Barbossa here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
