Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dereck Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Riggs fails to land with a series of punches.
Lewis looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Riggs swinging wildly here.
Lewis slips a jab and a cross from Riggs.

Lewis shoots in and bounces Riggs off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lewis lands a couple of elbows.
Riggs wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lewis stays in close to Riggs's body and controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riggs wants to stand but Lewis is controlling the position.
Riggs looking to control.
Lewis throws a big right hand that misses.
Lewis landing with the ground and pound.
Lewis content to stall in guard here.
Lewis stands up over Riggs, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lewis is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Lewis's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lewis connects with a couple of short punches.

Riggs wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lewis manages to pass to side control.
Lewis is controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Riggs wants to improve his position but Lewis is controlling well.
Lewis content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Lewis working the head and body with strikes.
Lewis wants to free his trapped foot but Riggs is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Riggs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lewis winds up and cracks Riggs with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lewis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lewis in particular looking to stall.
Lewis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Lewis is pressing down on Riggs's thigh, looking to free his foot. Riggs is holding on for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Riggs wants to get back to full guard but Lewis has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dereck Lewis dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Riggs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And Lewis tries to counter it with a takedown but Riggs pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Lewis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Riggs did well to prevent Lewis getting side control.

Lewis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Riggs defends it well.

Riggs has hold of Lewis's hands but Lewis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lewis controlling the action here.

Lewis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Lewis moves into full mount! Riggs won't be happy about that!
Lewis raining down hammerfists from mount.
Riggs keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lewis controlling the position easily from mount.
Lewis lands a heavy elbow.


Riggs is rocked!
Lewis is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Riggs goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Lewis!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dereck Lewis!
