Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marx Bronson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Karpiridis!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bronson slips a straight right by Karpiridis.
Karpiridis looks to score with a jab to the body but Bronson is just out of range.
Bronson tries to counter with a takedown but Karpiridis is quick to defend against it.
Karpiridis cracks a nice hook into Bronson's ribs.
Bronson swats away the attempt to clinch by Karpiridis.
Karpiridis pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Karpiridis throws a hook but Bronson blocks it.
Karpiridis scores with a hook to the body. Bronson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Karpiridis scores with a jab.
Karpiridis misses the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karpiridis just misses with a punch to the body.
Karpiridis throws a body shot but no joy.
Bronson attempts a counter takedown but Karpiridis avoids it well and moves away.
Karpiridis throws a looping overhand right but Bronson ducks down to avoid it.
Bronson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Bronson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Karpiridis misses with a jab to the body

and Bronson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Bronson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bronson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bronson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Bronson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Karpiridis screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Bronson! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Marx Bronson!
Marx Bronson decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
