Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Woodley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Will Woodley is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Will Woodley!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Will Woodley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Woodley dives in and grabs Walker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes down on Woodley's head and hops out.

Woodley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Walker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Walker is trying to keep Woodley in close.
Walker looking for a sweep. Not yet Walker, not yet.
We've been hearing good reports from Walker's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woodley is looking to work some ground and pound but Walker has wrist control.
Woodley wants to stand but Walker is controlling his posture from full guard.

Woodley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Woodley shoots and misses

and Walker counters by clinching up.
Woodley jumps guard but Walker turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jay Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Woodley.
Walker is trying to force a seperation but Woodley has the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Walker misses with a hook to the ribs.
Walker lands a left hand.
Woodley looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Walker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Woodley throws a sloppy head kick and Walker moves out of range easily.
A little feinted left hand from Walker on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Woodley shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Walker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Woodley.
Woodley wants to clinch but Walker slips to the side
and Walker counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Woodley tries for a takedown but Walker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Woodley just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromWalker.
Horrible takedown attempt by Woodley or perhaps it was just good defense by Walker, which made it look bad.
Walker seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Woodley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Woodley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Walker manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Woodley is looking to break free of the clinch but Walker has double underhooks.

Woodley shoots in looking for a takedown but Walker manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Woodley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Walker throws a sloppy head kick and Woodley moves out of range easily.

Walker was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Woodley dives in for a single leg takedown but Walker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Walker is looking for a counter combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Walker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Walker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Woodley wants to clinch.
Woodley throws a head kick but Walker moves out of range.
Woodley throws a series of punches but Walker avoids them all with ease.
Nice takedown defense from Walker. No joy for Woodley on that attempt.

Walker turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Walker connects with a high kick.
Woodley darts in looking for a takedown but Walker gets double underhooks and turns Woodley into the cage.

Woodley closes the distance and clinches up with Walker, looking for a takedown. Woodley pushes Walker against the cage but Walker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Walker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Woodley is fending him off so far but Walker persists. Nope, Woodley circles away and we're back to standing.
Woodley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walker defends it nicely.

Walker tries to sprawl but Woodley drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Walker is trying to maintain the position but Woodley is very close to passing his half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Woodley prevents Walker from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walker trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Woodley is working for a kimura but Walker is defending it quite comfortably.
Woodley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walker keeps working.
Woodley tries to stand but can't do so whilst Walker controls his leg.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Woodley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Woodley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walker keeps working.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Woodley.
Woodley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Walker went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Woodley looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jay Walker will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


A right-left combo lands from Walker.

Woodley closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Walker's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker is trying to control the position but Woodley postures up.

Walker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Woodley defends well.

Walker has momentary wrist control but Woodley slips an elbow through the middle.
Walker pulls Woodley in to control the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Woodley looks for a takedown but Walker sprawls well.
Jay Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Woodley is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Woodley swats away the attempt to clinch by Walker.
Woodley is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Woodley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Walker to the ground. Woodley is now in Walker's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Woodley trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Walker manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Woodley is striking off his back. Walker thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Woodley wants to improve his position but Walker is controlling well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Woodley keeps trying to improve his position.

I would just about give that final round to Will Woodley.
I think Walker has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
