Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lynwood Weiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leeroy Maclaine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lynwood Weiss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leeroy Maclaine!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maclaine has a takedown stuffed.
Maclaine shoots for a takedown but Weiss saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Maclaine shoots in looking for a takedown. Weiss tries to sprawl out of it but Maclaine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Weiss manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Maclaine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Weiss circles away quickly and effectively.

Weiss is trying to pull guard but Maclaine has him pressed against the cage.

Maclaine gets control of Weiss's arms and successfully pulls guard. Maclaine will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Weiss has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Weiss postures up in Maclaine's guard and throws a big left but Maclaine blocks it.
Weiss stands up over Maclaine, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Maclaine has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Weiss is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Maclaine is looking to control Weiss's arms but Weiss gets an underhook and turns him. Now Maclaine has his back to the cage.

Maclaine manages to break the clinch.
Maclaine tries to clinch there but Weiss circles away.
Maclaine tries to close the distance and clinch but Weiss swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Weiss is looking to counter punch.

Maclaine gets a clinch.

Weiss tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The referee calls for Maclaine to work.
Weiss tries to stall but Maclaine uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Maclaine lands a nice uppercut.
Weiss throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Weiss jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Maclaine walks away with a smile on his face. Weiss gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Weiss tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maclaine sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Weiss somewhat.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Maclaine has closed the distance and engaged Weiss in a clinch.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Maclaine, right into the meat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sloppy strikes from Maclaine. Those never looked like landing.
Weiss changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Weiss throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maclaine was covering up waiting for the punch and Weiss finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Weiss throws a strike but Maclaine rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


The fighters are working up against the cage. Weiss manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Maclaine lands a body shot.
Weiss avoiding damage.
Weiss is working for takedown but Maclaine is calmly controlling the position for now.

Maclaine breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Maclaine shoots in for a double leg but Weiss sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

It looked like Weiss was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Maclaine has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
