Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adalberto Hancock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bajar Tareen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bajar Tareen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Adalberto Hancock's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adalberto Hancock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bajar Tareen!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Darius Henderson and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tareen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hancock fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hancock shoots in but Tareen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tareen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hancock.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adalberto Hancock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No joy there for Tareen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hancock is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Tareen.
Hancock shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Tareen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tareen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hancock misses with an elbow strike.
Tareen blocks an elbow strike from Hancock.

Tareen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tareen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hancock knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tareen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hancock keeps working.

Tareen is pressing down on Hancock's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hancock is holding on for now.
Hancock is refusing to be controlled, as Tareen sits in half guard.

Hancock makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Tareen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Tareen jumps guard and drags Hancock to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Tareen trying to keep a closed guard but Hancock is proving a slippery customer.

Tareen pulls Hancock in close to prevent any damage.
Hancock trying to control but Tareen is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hancock slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hancock wants to control from the top but Tareen keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hancock tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tareen swivels and escapes.
Hancock shoots in and drives through. Tareen sprawls well.
Hancock backing away here, and Tareen unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Tareen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hancock.

Tareen leaves Hancock with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tareen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bajar Tareen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Tareen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hancock to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hancock in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hancock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hancock content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Hancock is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hancock throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tareen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hancock is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Tareen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hancock napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Tareen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hancock manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Tareen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hancock does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tareen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hancock wants to get back to full guard.
Bajar Tareen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hancock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tareen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tareen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hancock looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Tareen has picked Hancock up and slammed him! Hancock can't keep hold of the triangle and Tareen manages to pass to side control!

Tareen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tareen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hancock is letting Tareen control him for a moment.
Hancock tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tareen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tareen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Tareen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tareen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hancock manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tareen's best efforts.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hancock wants to improve his position but Tareen is controlling well.
Tareen trying to control the action but Hancock is working from the bottom.
Hancock is looking to improve his position.
Tareen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I would just about give that final round to Bajar Tareen.
Well Tareen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
