Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Favalas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor darts in and clinches Favalas up against the cage.
Taylor drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Favalas gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Taylor gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Thiago Favalas has been cut.

Taylor has had enough of the clinch but Favalas keeps him there for the moment.
Taylor changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Favalas fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Taylor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Taylor wanted to stand there but Favalas had control of the position.

Taylor drops back looking for a leg! Favalas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Favalas manages to kick Taylor off! Taylor jumps back into Favalas's guard.

Favalas lands a big shot there that rocks Taylor but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Taylor is squirming around, avoiding Favalas's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Taylor tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Taylor wants to improve his position but Favalas is controlling well.

Favalas uses his free foot to push down on Taylor's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Taylor.

Favalas is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Taylor is surviving well by controlling Favalas's body position as best he can.
Favalas unloads with some shots from mount but Taylor bucks and avoids them well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
