Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kong scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kong in the domination position with Lyles hanging on.
Kong advances nicely into full mount.
Kong trying to control but Lyles is having none of it.
Kong prevents Lyles from getting the reversal.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lyles has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Kong's lack of action.

Kong is stalling here. Lyles is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kong seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lyles has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Lyles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lyles working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kong takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Kong is rocked!
Lyles in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Kong looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Lyles turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

A relieved looking Buddy Lyles thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
