Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giovanni Humphrey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Ripper!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ripper manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Humphrey on his heels. He'll look to pass Humphrey's guard now, I'm sure.
Ripper with a flurry of punches that miss.
Humphrey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Humphrey wants to sweep but no luck.
Ripper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Humphrey tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ripper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Humphrey controls Ripper momentarily but Ripper frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ripper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ripper shoots in but no luck this time.

Humphrey blocks a low kick nicely.
Humphrey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ripper but Ripper pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ripper forces Humphrey back against the cage and clinches.

Humphrey tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Humphrey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ripper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Humphrey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ripper somewhat.
Ripper fails to land with a series of punches.
Humphrey is looking to counter punch.
Humphrey moves out of range of the body kick from Ripper.
Humphrey half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Ripper closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Humphrey pulls guard effortlessly.
Ripper trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ripper is in close to Humphrey's body, working some short punches and elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ripper working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Humphrey has Ripper pulled in close to control his posture.
Humphrey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Humphrey has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ripper has passed into side control.

Ripper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chip Ripper dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Humphrey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ripper but Ripper pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ripper moves into the clinch.
Humphrey jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ripper walks away with a smile on his face. Humphrey gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ripper rushes Humphrey and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Humphrey tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ripper smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giovanni Humphrey. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ripper lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Ripper has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ripper has taken the fight to the clinch.
Humphrey tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ripper smiles and moves away.
Ripper goes for a small jab and connects. Now Ripper goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Humphrey stumbles back but Ripper runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Humphrey to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Humphrey will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Chip Ripper!
