Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julian Mccormick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitun Sika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sika is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kato ny äijjää. Julian Mccormick has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vitun Sika!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sika looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sika shoots in looking for a takedown. Mccormick tries to sprawl out of it but Sika keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mccormick manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mccormick went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sika is defended easily by Mccormick.
Mccormick is looking to counter with a body kick.
Julian Mccormick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vitun Sika.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sika shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Poor strikes thrown by Sika there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

and Mccormick counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sika shoots in but Mccormick avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mccormick wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Sika doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mccormick counters with a three punch combo that has Sika backing up. Sika nods at Mccormick to acknowledge the strikes.

Sika shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mccormick pinned against the cage. Mccormick gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Julian Mccormick will probably get the nod.

Sika changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mccormick tries to avoid it but Sika manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mccormick to the ground. Mccormick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sika drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mccormick gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mccormick is trying to pull guard but Sika has him pressed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Julian Mccormick will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sika is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mccormick is trying to control the position but Sika postures up.

Mccormick is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sika is aware though and is defending well.
Mccormick wants to sweep but no luck.
Sika passes Mccormick's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sika wants to control but Mccormick is keeping him busy.

Sika is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mccormick doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sika.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mccormick is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sika defends well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sika throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mccormick swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mccormick, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
