The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veratti fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Clark drops down looking for a counter takedown but Veratti sprawls and moves away.
Veratti shoots in for a takedown but Clark shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Clark is looking to counter the offense by Veratti and move into the clinch.
Clark throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Clark throws a head kick that misses.
And Veratti tries to counter it with a takedown but Clark pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Veratti shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clark but Clark pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Veratti shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Clark eats them both and turns towards Veratti to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Veratti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Bertram Clark will probably get the nod.

Clark is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Veratti.
Clark shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Veratti sprawls well. Veratti wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Clark gets slowly back to his feet.

It looks like Bertram Clark has been cut.
Veratti lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Clark can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Veratti and Clark drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Veratti.
