Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hans Mentagawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juliano Teive (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teive has chosen Mc Japa - Perereca Suicida as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teive misses with a head kick.
Teive throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Mentagawa is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Teive.
Mentagawa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Teive defends it nicely.
Teive tries to clinch up but Mentagawa circles away and keeps his distance.
Mentagawa thinks about countering with a body kick.
Teive is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloppy strikes from Teive. Those never looked like landing.
Mentagawa shoots for a double leg takedown but Teive sprawls well. He's pushed Mentagawa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Teive counters with a right hand to the body.

Mentagawa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Mentagawa swats away the attempt to clinch by Teive.
Teive fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mentagawa, pushing him back against the cage.
Teive is pressed up against the cage. Mentagawa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Teive down to the mat. Teive avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Teive tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mentagawa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Teive has Mentagawa up against the cage in a clinch.
Teive missing with knees to the body.
Teive misses with a knee strike.
Teive tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Mentagawa has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Teive is trying to keep an underhook but Mentagawa manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Mentagawa is looking for a kimura but Teive is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mentagawa to get the leverage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Teive is trying to stand up here but Mentagawa is controlling him well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mentagawa is working for a submission of some sort.
Mentagawa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Teive desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Teive slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mentagawa passes Teive's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Mentagawa is pressing down on Teive's thigh, looking to free his foot. Teive is holding on for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Teive wants to control but Mentagawa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Juliano Teive will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mentagawa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Teive wants to clinch.
Mentagawa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Teive tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mentagawa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mentagawa is looking to counter the offense by Teive and move into the clinch.
Juliano Teive seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Teive throws a combination that misses
and Mentagawa counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Teive!
An elbow from Mentagawa crashes against the mat.
Teive really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mentagawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mentagawa is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Teive looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mentagawa gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Teive is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mentagawa lets go of the hold and Teive can pop his arm back in it's socket.
