The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Theiles closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones did well to prevent Theiles getting side control.
Jones flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Theiles missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Theiles thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Theiles wants to free his trapped foot but Jones is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jones wants to control but Theiles is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jones is trying to stand back up but Theiles is controlling him
Jones tries to roll over but Theiles keeps him under control.
Jones is trying to maintain the position but Theiles is very close to passing his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Theiles tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Theiles throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Theiles finishes the takedown easily into guard.
