The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ciprianni throws a front kick aimed at Soprano's knee but Soprano avoids it well.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ciprianni has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Ciprianni counters with an outside leg kick.
Ciprianni connects with a crisp jab.
Ciprianni misses the shot to the body.

Soprano throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ciprianni sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Soprano ducks right into an uppercut from Ciprianni.
Soprano misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Ciprianni counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Soprano pushes Ciprianni off looking to stand but Ciprianni dives back in and keeps control.
Ciprianni throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ciprianni wants to control but Soprano is keeping him busy.
Ciprianni is pressing down on Soprano's thigh, looking to free his foot. Soprano is holding on for now.

Ciprianni wants to work for an arm triangle but Soprano is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Soprano is refusing to be controlled, as Ciprianni sits in half guard.
Ciprianni has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ciprianni uses his free foot to push down on Soprano's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Soprano.
Ciprianni wants to control the pace but Soprano is squirming around nicely.
