Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Queen - We are the champions (mariachillout). Carlos Diaz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Sandman!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandman has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Sandman shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sandman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Diaz moves out of range as Sandman strikes.
Diaz throws a shot to the body.
Diaz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Diaz lands with a straight right. Sandman didn't see that one coming.
Diaz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sandman throws out the jab.
Sandman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diaz slaps away a takedown attempt from Sandman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sandman looks to land a left hand but Diaz moved out of range nicely.
Diaz cracks Sandman with a right hand to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Good standup being displayed there by Diaz as he connects with a hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sandman is defended easily by Diaz.
It looked like Diaz was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Sandman.
Carlos Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Sandman.
Sandman shoots in but no luck this time.
Sandman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Diaz throws a right and a left that Sandman avoids nicely.
Sandman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Diaz misses with a body shot.
Sandman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Diaz can pounce on him.
Diaz throws a series of strikes that have Sandman backpedaling.
Sandman takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Sandman shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Sandman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz cracks Sandman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Diaz!

Sandman is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sandman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sandman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Diaz.

Sandman throws out a loose jab but Diaz uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sandman is still on wobbly legs! Can Diaz finish him?

Sandman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Diaz's guard.
Sandman seems to have recovered his senses.
Sandman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Sandman drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Sandman as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Diaz screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Sandman! Nice submission victory there!
