The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dalis gets a takedown into half guard.
Dalis tries to pass to full mount but Alves defends it.
Dalis frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Alves wants to hold on but Dalis pushes him away.

Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dalis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dalis has hold of Alves's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Alves manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Dalis has control of Alves's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Alves regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Alves is squirming around, avoiding Dalis's attempts to control the action.
BOOM! Dalis connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dalis has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Alves's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dalis swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Haer Dalis!
Haer Dalis bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
