The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Haq moves into the clinch.
Haq lands a left hand.
Haq lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Maiden blocks an elbow strike from Haq.
Maiden tries to pull guard but Haq won't allow it.
Haq avoids a wild elbow strike from Maiden.
Maiden avoids the elbow strike from Haq, against the cage.
Maiden wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Haq has him pressed against the cage.
Haq presses Maiden against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Maiden looks winded!
Haq wants to get back to striking at distance but Maiden won't allow it.
Maiden has Haq pressed against the cage, preventing Haq from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Haq manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Maiden takes a shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maiden wants to take the fight to the mat but Haq manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Haq pulls guard.
Maiden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haq swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maiden prevents Haq from getting back to his feet.
Maiden with a flurry of punches that miss.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Haq keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Haq cracks Maiden with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Maiden tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Haq pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Maiden is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Taufiqul Haq!
