Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marek Bydlak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Pandarian!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bydlak closes the distance looking to clinch

and Pandarian counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pandarian.

Bydlak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pandarian gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bydlak might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bydlak working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pandarian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pandarian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bydlak not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pandarian stands up over Bydlak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Pandarian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pandarian keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bydlak's head.

Bydlak has his foot on Pandarian's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pandarian works his way back into a safe position though.

Pandarian distracts Bydlak with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Bydlak pulls Pandarian in close to his closed guard and prevents Pandarian from doing any damage or advancing position.
Bydlak is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Bydlak looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Bydlak is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pandarian is aware though and is defending well.
Bydlak is trying to keep Pandarian in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pandarian's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bydlak controls Pandarian momentarily but Pandarian frees himself.

Pandarian is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Bydlak is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pandarian defends well.

Pandarian got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bydlak has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pandarian has managed to get both his arms back between Bydlak's legs - danger averted.

Bydlak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pandarian gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pandarian has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bydlak is rocked!
Pandarian gets to his feet and stands over Bydlak, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Bydlak felt that one! Pandarian unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Bydlak from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Pandarian!
