The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons swats away the attempt to clinch by Stuart.

Simmons closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Simmons is looking for a triangle but Stuart pushes his legs off easily.

Simmons working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stuart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stuart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Simmons is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Stuart knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Simmons on the ground.

Stuart has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Stuart tries to sprawl but Simmons drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Simmons is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Stuart has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Simmons has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Stuart taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Simmons doesn't care though - he's delighted!
