Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johann Schwartz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen disturbed - down with the sickness as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johann Schwartz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Schwartz staying out of range there.
Gracie throws a big shot that misses.
Schwartz misses with a few strikes there.
Schwartz ducks under a wild hook from Gracie.
Gracie misses with a combination

and Schwartz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Schwartz.
Schwartz stands and throws Gracie's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Gracie is refusing to be controlled, as Schwartz sits in half guard.

Schwartz wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well.

Schwartz is tying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Schwartz trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Schwartz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gracie is trying to stand up here but Schwartz is controlling him well.
Schwartz wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well.

Gracie is defending against the submission attempts here by Schwartz.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schwartz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Schwartz is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Gracie flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Schwartz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Gracie is trying to stand up here but Schwartz is controlling him well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Schwartz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Schwartz wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Schwartz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gracie misses with a wild combination.
Schwartz avoids the head kick by Gracie.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie missing with a left hand there. Schwartz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Gracie tries to roll over but Schwartz keeps him under control.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Schwartz pulls his head out easily.

Schwartz wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gracie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Schwartz feints and as Gracie raises his hands in defense, Schwartz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Schwartz won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.
Gracie manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Schwartz is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Gracie throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Schwartz because Gracie loaded up on that one.

Gracie throws some wild stikes that Schwartz manages to avoid easily.

Gracie has control of Schwartz's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Schwartz regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Schwartz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Schwartz and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Schwartz tries to bench press Gracie off him but Gracie keeps the position.

Gracie works his way into full mount!
Schwartz is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gracie working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Gracie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Schwartz has worked his arm free - good work by Schwartz!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johann Schwartz dominated that second round.
That's time! Schwartz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Schwartz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Schwartz throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
Johann Schwartz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Schwartz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Schwartz's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gracie's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Schwartz is trying to keep Gracie in close.
Gracie won't allow Schwartz to sweep him here.

Schwartz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gracie with a flurry of punches that miss.
Schwartz looking for a sweep. Not yet Schwartz, not yet.
Gracie is in close to Schwartz's body, working some short punches and elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Schwartz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie is pushing down on Schwartz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Schwartz is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Johann Schwartz.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Schwartz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
