Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maki Pulu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mi Oh My Oh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pulu's entrance music is Alive. A fine choice. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maki Pulu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mi Oh My Oh!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
My Oh leaves Pulu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pulu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in My Oh's half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if My Oh can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pulu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
My Oh has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Island Fitness $50pw. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

My Oh is trying to stand.

Pulu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so My Oh is just riding it out for now. Pulu eventually gives up the hold.
My Oh tries to roll over but Pulu keeps him under control.

Pulu is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pulu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pulu wants to lay and pray for a moment but My Oh keeps working.
Pulu wants to pass to mount but My Oh is defending the position.
My Oh pushes Pulu off looking to stand but Pulu dives back in and keeps control.
Pulu not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

My Oh is defending against the submission attempts here by Pulu.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Pulu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pulu lands in his opponent's guard.

Pulu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pulu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pulu advances position into side control!

Pulu has worked his way into a potential kimura here. My Oh is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Pulu yanks on the arm and My Oh is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Pulu.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Maki Pulu!
An out of breath Maki Pulu thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
