Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mamoru Takamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takamura tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Drake was well out of range. Poor timing from Takamura.

and Takamura counters with a left to the body.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch but Takamura swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Drake moves out of range of the strikes.

Takamura gets tackled into the cage by Drake. Drake maintains the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drake fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Takamura on the side of the head.

Drake unleashes a big counter combination but Takamura bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Al Drake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takamura punishes Drake's body with a nice straight punch.
Drake walks straight into a right hand from Takamura - that's dropped him! Takamura jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Drake from any more punishment! Drake complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
