Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reynaldo Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Zigler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reynaldo Koch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zach Zigler!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Koch has a takedown stuffed.
Koch dives in and grabs Zigler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zigler pushes down on Koch's head and hops out.
Zigler is looking for the big counter here.
Koch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zigler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koch shoots in looking for a takedown but Zigler manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Koch's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Zigler throws a counter combo.

Koch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zigler as he avoids it easily.

Koch throws a solid leg kick but Zigler takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Koch.
Koch dives in for a single leg takedown but Zigler sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Despite the aggression on Zigler's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Koch misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Koch darts in looking for a takedown but Zigler gets double underhooks and turns Koch into the cage.
Koch throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Zigler circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zigler is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Reynaldo Koch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Koch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zigler to the mat! Zigler manages to get full guard.

Koch stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Zigler tries to counter with a clinch but Koch shakes him off and moves away.

Koch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Koch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Koch thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.

Koch shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zigler pinned against the cage. Zigler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Koch closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zigler circles away.
Zigler changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Koch has his takedown stuffed
and Zigler makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Horrible takedown attempt by Koch or perhaps it was just good defense by Zigler, which made it look bad.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Koch closes the distance and clinches up with Zigler, looking for a takedown. Koch pushes Zigler against the cage but Zigler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Zigler with the counter takedown but Koch avoids it easily.
Koch fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And Zigler tries to counter it with a takedown but Koch pushes his down on his head and steps out.
We've been informed that Zigler has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Koch takes the fight into the clinch.

Zigler gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Zigler looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Zigler prevents Koch from improving his position.
Koch trying to hold on to Zigler's head to control him but Zigler postures up.

Koch is looking to improve his position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Koch misses with a looping left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zach Zigler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Koch closes the distance and clinches up with Zigler, looking for a takedown. Koch pushes Zigler against the cage but Zigler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Zigler tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Koch pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Zigler has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Zigler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Koch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zigler swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Koch shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zigler sprawls well. Zigler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Koch gets slowly back to his feet.

and Zigler counters with a crisp one two that drops Koch! Zigler thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Koch to his feet! Koch is in big trouble!

and Zigler counters with a nice body shot.
Koch darts in looking for a takedown but Zigler gets double underhooks and turns Koch into the cage.

Zigler leaves Koch with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Zach Zigler seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Koch looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Zigler tries to kick Koch off but Koch keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Zigler is trying to maintain the position but Koch is very close to passing his half guard.
Koch thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Koch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Zigler pushes Koch off looking to stand but Koch dives back in and keeps control.
Koch thows a huge punch but Zigler dodges it nicely.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zigler makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Koch tries to clinch there but Zigler circles away.
Zigler tries a quick counter leg kick but Koch is wise to it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Zach Zigler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Zigler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
