Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luciano Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Tr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maxim Tr is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luciano Garza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Maxim Tr!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garza shoots in looking for a takedown but Tr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Garza's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Garza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A frustrated look appears on Garza's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Garza tries to break the clinch but Tr is controlling the position.

Tr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Garza tries a low kick but Tr avoids it.

Tr gets a takedown into half guard.
Tr keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tr is trying to control the action in half guard but Garza is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Tr seems content to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garza flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Garza controlling the position well.
Garza misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Tr shoots in and gets a takedown into Garza's guard.
Garza looking for a sweep. Not yet Garza, not yet.
Garza will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Garza manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tr manages to get himself to full guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
Garza working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tr's head.
Tr looking to control.
Tr controlling Garza's posture.

Garza avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Garza with a flurry of punches that miss.
Garza working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Garza is looking to stand up but Tr won't let him.

Garza gets to his feet - Tr follows without any prompting.
Garza fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Tr drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Garza defends it well.

Tr dives in and scores a takedown into Garza's guard.
Garza wants to sweep here but Tr controlling him for the moment.
Tr looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tr decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Garza, up you get!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Garza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tr but Tr pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luciano Garza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garza tries for a takedown but Tr circles away easily
and Tr counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Garza is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tr lands in his opponent's guard.
Garza keeping moving, preventing Tr from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maxim Tr dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Garza gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Tr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tr connects with a solid leg kick.
Tr tries for a takedown but Garza circles away easily

and Garza holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Tr is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Garza to keep the fight standing.
Garza jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tr walks away with a smile on his face. Garza gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tr shoots in for a double leg but Garza sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Luciano Garza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxim Tr.
Garza tries for a takedown but Tr sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Tr misses.
Tr defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Garza.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garza fails with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tr throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Garza tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tr is in Garza's guard.
Tr looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Garza keeping full guard, as Tr tries to pass.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Garza utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tr is pushing down on Garza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Garza is fighting to maintain full guard but Tr has managed to sneak the leg through.
Garza has hold of Tr's hands but Tr slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Garza is staying active underneath Tr, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Tr passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Garza!
Tr tries to control but Garza wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Garza is working to get back to half guard.
Tr takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Tr putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Garza tries to reverse the position but Tr maintains control.
Tr controlling from mount.
Garza wants to control but Tr is having none of it.
Garza keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tr can't control as he wanted to and Garza manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maxim Tr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Garza closes the distance and clinches up with Tr, looking for a takedown. Garza pushes Tr against the cage but Tr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Garza stuffs the takedown attempt from Tr. Tr gets slowly back to his feet.

Tr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Garza's guard.
Tr looking to sit in guard and control but Garza gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tr looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garza throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Garza is looking to work some ground and pound but Tr has wrist control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tr trying to keep a closed guard but Garza is proving a slippery customer.
Tr pulls Garza in to control the position.

Garza drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Garza has Tr in his guard.

Tr trying to control the position from guard on top but Garza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Garza can't keep his opponent in guard - Tr advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Garza is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Tr jumps into side control!

Tr decides to stand up, so the ref orders Garza to his feet.
Tr has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tr gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tr pressing his opponent against the cage.
Garza wants to get back to striking at distance but Tr won't allow it.

Tr manages to pull guard.
Maxim Tr has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tr trying to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tr pushes Garza off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Maxim Tr is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Garza slips under a jab from Tr.

Tr clinches up with Garza and pushes him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Garza tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Tr decides to pull guard.
Tr managing to control the position.

Garza is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tr is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tr has escaped and now he's on top!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tr trying to control the position from guard on top but Garza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

And that's the end of the fight!
Maxim Tr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
