PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esoj Aicrag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Esoj Aicrag!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aicrag chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Perry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aicrag as he jumps to the side.

Aicrag bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Aicrag working the ground and pound from side control.

It looks like Adam Perry has been cut.
Aicrag scores with punches from side control.
Aicrag landing strikes.
Aicrag wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perry keeps working.
Perry taking punishment in the form of punches.

Adam Perry's cut is getting worse.

Aicrag stands up and beckons Perry to his feet.
Perry closes the distance and clinches up with Aicrag, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes Aicrag against the cage but Aicrag circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Perry tries to sprawl but Aicrag drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Aicrag is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Perry defends it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aicrag looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Perry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Adam Perry's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Aicrag thows a huge punch but Perry dodges it nicely.
Aicrag working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jeez, Adam Perry's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Adam Perry's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
