Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Masahiko Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Funkyama throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kimura tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Funkyama is in Kimura's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Funkyama lands a couple of elbows.
Funkyama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kimura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kimura can't keep his opponent in guard - Funkyama advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looks like Masahiko Kimura has been cut.

Kimura looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
