The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teixeira shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Haruto uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Teixeira.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Haruto.
Haruto fails in his attempt to clinch.

Teixeira closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Haruto quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haruto is not content to let Teixeira control the position.
Haruto wants to get back to full guard.
