The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ruch swivels and escapes.
Ruch displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Morgan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ruch's waist but Ruch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Morgan off to one side.
Morgan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Morgan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Morgan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ruch circles away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ruch has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Morgan counters by moving into the clinch.

Morgan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ruch as he jumps to the side.

Ruch will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Morgan fails with the takedown
and Ruch counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Morgan badly! Ruch follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Morgan out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Ruch finished him against the cage.
