Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nolan Rollins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson tries to clinch up.
Anderson closes the distance but Rollins moves to the side
and Rollins counters with a one-two to the body.

Anderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rollins!
Rollins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Anderson is trying to get an arm triangle but Rollins is defending well.

Anderson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson tries to advance to mount but Rollins denies him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Anderson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rollins gets the takedown into side control.
Rollins has control of an arm but Anderson manages to advance to Rollins's back!

Anderson tries to get the hooks in deep but Rollins pushed the leg off.

I really don't envy Rollins right now.

Anderson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rollins has passed into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rollins misses with the ground and pound.

A close round but Ryan Anderson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Anderson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
A clash of legs there as Rollins blocks the low kick.
Rollins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Anderson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ryan Anderson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Anderson tries to get to his feet but Rollins is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Anderson in his guard.

Rollins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Rollins has his foot on Anderson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Anderson works his way back into a safe position though.

Anderson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Anderson stands and throws Rollins's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Anderson misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Anderson throws a strike aimed at the side of Rollins's head but Rollins avoids it well.
Anderson has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Rollins in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Anderson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rollins has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rollins!
Anderson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Anderson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rollins manages to pass to side control.

Rollins missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Anderson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Anderson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Anderson is looking to stand up but Rollins isn't so interested in that idea.

Rollins chips away with some ground and pound.

Ryan Anderson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Rollins shoots in but no luck this time.
Nolan Rollins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Anderson misses with a kick to the body.

Rollins tries to sprawl but Anderson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Anderson is looking to stall here but Rollins recovers full guard.

Anderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Anderson controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Anderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Anderson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Anderson misses with a low kick.
Rollins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rollins shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anderson defends it nicely.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Anderson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Rollins is looking for a sweep.
Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Rollins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rollins regains half guard there - taking advantage of Anderson's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rollins keeps working.

Ryan Anderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Anderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
