The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez stuffs the takedown.

Douglas fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rodriguez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Rodriguez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Rodriguez connects with a body shot that sends Douglas's belly button to the back.
Rodriguez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Rodriguez changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Douglas moves forwards but Rodriguez connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Rodriguez feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Douglas sprawling to the canvas! Douglas rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Rodriguez finish him?!

Rodriguez lands a left and a right that send Douglas crashing to the mat, dazed. Rodriguez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Douglas dives in for a single leg takedown but Rodriguez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

Rodriguez throws a big counter combination but Douglas scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rodriguez lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Douglas falls backwards - clearly groggy! Rodriguez dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
