Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 26 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby TupperIII!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arai is looking to land body kicks.
TupperIII with the counter takedown but Arai avoids it easily.
Arai misses with a low kick.

TupperIII is looking for a sweep.
Arai trying to control the action but TupperIII is working from the bottom.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arai is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, TupperIII has escaped the position, nice work there.
TupperIII seems a little lost for a moment, as Arai dominates the positioning.

TupperIII takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Arai wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by TupperIII, who protects the arm well.

TupperIII is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Arai pulls his head out easily.

TupperIII looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Arai passes into side control.
TupperIII is looking to regain half guard here but Arai keeps moving and retains side control.

Arai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. TupperIII knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
TupperIII sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Arai is looking to take a break and control but TupperIII is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Arai is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. TupperIII doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Arai.
TupperIII manages to get to full guard.
Arai seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

TupperIII escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Arai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Arai avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Arai lands a couple of elbows.
Arai distracts TupperIII with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

TupperIII looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Arai got a little sloppy there for a moment and TupperIII has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arai has managed to get both his arms back between TupperIII's legs - danger averted.
Arai works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Arai seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

TupperIII looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
TupperIII taking some punishment here, with Arai in his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Asano Arai dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Arai ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
TupperIII on the wrong end of a nice jab.
TupperIII's coach down at Franklin D. Bluth Memorial Supergym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on TupperIII's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Arai is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Bobby TupperIII has been cut.

Arai is working TupperIII over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Arai passes TupperIII's left leg - he's now in half guard.
TupperIII wants to get back to full guard.

Arai uses his free foot to push down on TupperIII's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for TupperIII.
