PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eildon Heap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Henderson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eildon Heap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Henderson!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Henderson has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've been informed that Henderson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Heap is pressed up against the cage. Henderson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Heap down to the mat. Heap avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Heap rushes Henderson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Henderson wants the takedown. Heap is fighting it off but Henderson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Heap's guard against the cage.
Henderson won't allow Heap to sweep him here.
Heap knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Henderson on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Henderson tries for a takedown but Heap sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Heap drops down looking for a counter takedown but Henderson sprawls and moves away.
Donk. Henderson catches Heap right on the button with a cross.
Heap tries to land a front kick but Henderson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Henderson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Heap is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Henderson can do to turn this around?
