Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stewart Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bishop gets caught napping as Wilson dives in and scores a takedown. Bishop manages to retain guard.
Wilson throws a strike but Bishop rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bishop throws a big right hand that misses.
Bishop in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Wilson is looking for a triangle but Bishop pushes his legs off easily.
Wilson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bishop loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Los Angeles inform us that Wilson has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson has Bishop pulled in close to control his posture.
Bishop has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wilson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bishop drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wilson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Wilson moves in looking to clinch but Bishop pushes him off.
Wilson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bishop counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Wilson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Wilson drives through with a takedown into Bishop's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wilson won't allow Bishop to sweep him here.

Wilson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bishop has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wilson has managed to get both his arms back between Bishop's legs - danger averted.
Wilson wants to stand but Bishop is controlling his posture from full guard.

Bishop is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bishop has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wilson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bishop really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wilson feints and as Bishop raises his hands in defense, Wilson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wilson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bishop can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wilson controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bobby Wilson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Wilson tries to clinch there but Bishop circles away.

Wilson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bishop's guard.

Bishop pushes Wilson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Wilson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bishop is looking to escape.
Bobby Wilson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wilson is looking to stall here but Bishop recovers full guard.
Wilson throws a big elbow that misses.
Wilson is breathing heavily.

Wilson wants to stand but Bishop is controlling his posture from full guard.
Bishop looking for a sweep. Not yet Bishop, not yet.
Bishop keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bishop working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wilson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wilson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Wilson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Wilson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bishop paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wilson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wilson won't allow Bishop to get back to his feet.
Bishop throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Wilson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bishop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wilson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Wilson gets a takedown into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wilson is nestled in close to Bishop, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Bishop is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wilson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Wilson lands a huge takedown. Bishop is out but the ref is slow to react and Wilson lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Bishop lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
