Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Durham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Durham has closed the distance and engaged McKenzie in a clinch.
McKenzie is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Durham to keep the fight standing.

McKenzie's coach down at Quick Fingers BEST BANG FOR BUCK Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McKenzie's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Durham closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Durham really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McKenzie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Durham just stands there and leans against the cage.
James Durham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven McKenzie.

Durham breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fight stays on the outside here - Durham looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Durham misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McKenzie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Durham tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McKenzie paws at him with a jab and circles away.

McKenzie gets tackled into the cage by Durham. Durham maintains the clinch.
McKenzie wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Durham connects with a nasty looking knee right to McKenzie's face.

Durham tries to land a knee to the head but McKenzie blocks with his arms.

McKenzie gets control of Durham's arms and successfully pulls guard. McKenzie will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
McKenzie controls Durham momentarily but Durham frees himself.
McKenzie wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

McKenzie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Durham's guard.

Durham knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McKenzie on the ground.
McKenzie wants to control from the top but Durham keeps moving.

McKenzie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McKenzie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

McKenzie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Durham should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, McKenzie has tightened it up now! Durham should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
