Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Aires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Masseria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bruno Aires!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mikhail Masseria!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masseria misses with an uppercut
and Aires counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Aires dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Masseria throws a hook to the side of Aires's head but Aires sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Aires staying out of range there.
Aires blocks a jab.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Aires.

Aires shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Aires trying to control the pace.
Aires thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Masseria's head.
Aires has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Masseria is looking to control Aires's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Masseria avoid being mounted?
Aires drops an elbow to the side of Masseria's head.
Aires content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Aires looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aires scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Aires lands strikes from half guard.
Aires uses his free foot to push down on Masseria's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Masseria.
Aires connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aires lands a couple of good shots and Masseria has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

The fighters circling - Masseria throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Aires thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Masseria if he has to take too many more of those.
Aires uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Masseria.
Masseria is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Aires is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Masseria will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Masseria really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aires. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Aires connects with a bit shot that sees Masseria covering up! More strikes from Aires and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Aires is our winner by TKO!
