Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Paulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robert Paulson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robert Robertson!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robertson is looking to clinch but Paulson is avoiding it.
Paulson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Paulson blocks a low kick nicely.

Paulson shoots in and gets a takedown into Robertson's guard.

Robertson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Paulson trying to control the position from guard on top but Robertson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Robertson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paulson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Paulson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Robertson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Paulson is looking for a sweep. Robertson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Robertson working his ground and pound in the gym.
Paulson tries to kick Robertson off but Robertson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Robertson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Paulson wants to control but Robertson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Robertson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Paulson is refusing to be controlled, as Robertson sits in half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Robertson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Paulson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Robertson tries to clinch but Paulson is having none of it.

Robertson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Paulson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Robertson shoots in for a double leg but Paulson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Robertson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Paulson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Paulson is letting Robertson control him for a moment.
Let's hope that Robertson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Robertson throws an elbow but Paulson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Paulson wants to control but Robertson postures up.

Robertson wants to control for a moment but Paulson uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Paulson is looking for a sweep. Robertson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Paulson pushes Robertson off looking to stand but Robertson dives back in and keeps control.
Robertson is controlling the pace.
Robertson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Paulson!

Robertson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Paulson's face.
