The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gracie pinned against the cage. Gracie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gracie defending well as Overeem loads up on a big left hand.
Peter Overeem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie shoots in and bounces Overeem off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gracie is staying active underneath Overeem, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Overeem changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to avoid it but Overeem manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gracie to the ground. Gracie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Overeem feints and as Gracie raises his hands in defense, Overeem changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gracie has his foot on Overeem's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Overeem works his way back into a safe position though.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Overeem shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily.
Overeem looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Overeem keeps working.

Overeem manages to get back to half guard.
Gracie is pressing down on Overeem's thigh, looking to free his foot. Overeem is holding on for now.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Gracie uses his free foot to push down on Overeem's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Overeem.
Overeem keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gracie is looking to work his way around to Overeem's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Overeem bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

I would just about give that final round to Ramon Gracie.
