Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Humberto Cooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Trinh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee Trinh has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Humberto Cooke's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Humberto Cooke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Trinh!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trinh throws a sloppy head kick and Cooke moves out of range easily.
Cooke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cooke fails in his attempt to clinch.

Trinh feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cooke could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Trinh gets to his feet. Cooke looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

It looks like Humberto Cooke has been cut.
Trinh tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cooke counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Trinh throws a head kick that misses.

Trinh closes the distance and pushes Cooke back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cooke manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Trinh wants to stand but Cooke is controlling his posture from full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Trinh gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Trinh manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cooke on his heels. He'll look to pass Cooke's guard now, I'm sure.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Cooke fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Trinh sprawls well initially but Cooke persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cooke takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Cooke is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Trinh knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Trinh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cooke remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Cooke shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Trinh is trying to defend but Cooke finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cooke connects with a nice short shot to Trinh's temple.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trinh can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cooke working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fight stays on the outside here - Trinh looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cooke shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Trinh napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Cooke's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
