The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotch dodges the punch combination from Brawler.
No joy there for Brawler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brawler misses the body punch

and Gotch counters with a shoot takedown. Brawler fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gotch trying to control the position from guard on top but Brawler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gotch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brawler works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gotch sitting in guard here, content to control.
Gotch pushes down on Brawler's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gotch is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Gotch takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gotch has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Brawler defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gotch.
Brawler is squirming around, avoiding Gotch's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brawler tries to hold on but Gotch postures up.
Gotch trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Gotch prevents Brawler from getting the reversal.
Gotch controlling from the full mount.

Gotch swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
