The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mooney darts in looking for a takedown but Carlo gets double underhooks and turns Mooney into the cage.
Mooney tries to pull guard but Carlo forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Carlo dodges an elbow strike from Mooney.

Carlo gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Carlo controlling the action here.
Carlo wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Mooney uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Carlo passes Mooney's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mooney is trying to control but can't.
Carlo slows the pace down in half guard.

Let's hope that Carlo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

It looks like Josh Mooney has been cut.
Carlo wants to stand but Mooney is controlling his arm.

Mooney is trying to escape the position but Carlo is controlling the position.
Carlo works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Carlo takes a little break here. Mooney wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Carlo in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Mooney is rocked!
Mooney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Carlo scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Mooney is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Carlo can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
