Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Bruce Do!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Hamad Al Zahran!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Zahran tries to clinch but Do moves out of range.
Do has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Demon's Progym, LOP in the buildup to the fight.
Do throws a hook but Al Zahran blocks it.
Al Zahran motions for Do to come forward. Al Zahran throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Do avoids the body shot from Al Zahran.
Al Zahran takes one on the button.
Al Zahran takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Al Zahran lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Do at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Al Zahran. Do does a little dance to reset his feet.
Do throws a lazy right hand but Al Zahran sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Al Zahran swings for the body but Do moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Al Zahran seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Do throws a solid leg kick but Al Zahran takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Do.

Al Zahran swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Al Zahran thows a left - swing and a miss!
Do throwing a counter right hand but Al Zahran manages to avoid it.
Al Zahran misses with an uppercut.
Al Zahran throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Do stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Do gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Al Zahran.
Do throws a jab when Al Zahran was well out of range.
Al Zahran misses with a hook. Do ducked under it nicely.
Do throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Al Zahran connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Al Zahran does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Do scores with a head kick.

Do works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Do misses with a two punch combination.
Al Zahran tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Do tries to counter by clinching up but Al Zahran breaks away and moves out of range.
Al Zahran is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Do rather than just go for the knockout.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Do crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Al Zahran - the referee stops the clock and Do gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Al Zahran. Do manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Al Zahran swats away the attempt to clinch by Do.

Al Zahran throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Do was covering up waiting for the punch and Al Zahran finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Do lands with an uppercut that bounces Al Zahran off the cage and back into range.
Do throws a nice outside leg kick.
Al Zahran misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Do.
Al Zahran avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

It looks like Hamad Al Zahran has been cut.
Al Zahran looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Al Zahran shoots for a takedown but Do saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Do jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Al Zahran has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Al Zahran stalks Do and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Do's face. Do staggers backwards, shaken.
Do just misses with a punch to the body.
Do throws a shot from downtown. Al Zahran moves away and avoids it.
Do tries to work over Al Zahran's front leg with a kick but Al Zahran checks it.

Do slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Al Zahran wants to stand but Do is controlling his posture from full guard.
Al Zahran throws an elbow that misses. Do uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Al Zahran's guard. Nice move by Do!


Al Zahran is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Do defends well.

Al Zahran is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Do is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Al Zahran shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Do as he jumps to the side.

Do feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Al Zahrans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Do has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Al Zahran finds it's way round the side to connect with Do's head.

Do moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Do is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Al Zahran is defending well for now.
Do blocking some punches.
Do digs a right hand underneath Al Zahran's ribcage. Al Zahran let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Al Zahran has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Do after a bit of a struggle.
Al Zahran is looking to take this one to the mat.
Bruce Do has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamad Al Zahran.
Do with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Hamad Al Zahran is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Al Zahran throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Do putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Al Zahran in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Al Zahran has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Do after a bit of a struggle.

Al Zahran tightens his grip and picks Do up, before dumping him to the ground. Do manages to land in guard.

Al Zahran is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Do shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Do looks to land a right hand but Al Zahran moved out of range.
Al Zahran cracks Do with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Al Zahran lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Al Zahran uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

and Do makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

I would just about give that final round to Hamad Al Zahran.
I've got Al Zahran winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
