The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver lands with a shot to the body.
Silver throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've been told by Silver's head coaches at Gorilla Warfare MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nakamara uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silver.

Johnny Silver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamara will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Silver throws a hook but Nakamara avoids it easily.

Silver bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Nakamara's head.
Johnny Silver is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Nakamara takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Silver thuds his right hand into Nakamara's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Silver connects with a right hand. Nakamara shakes it off.
The crowd cheers as Silver lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nakamara doesn't seem phased though.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Silver, as that shot connected.

and Nakamara counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nakamara tries to free his leg and advance position but Silver is retaining full guard.

Silver tries to roll over but Nakamara keeps him under control.

Nakamara is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Silver has managed to free his arm - good work.
Nakamara is thwarting Silver's attempts to control the position.
Nakamara throws a strike but Silver avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Nakamara gets to his feet. Silver looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Silver scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Silver swings for the body but Nakamara moves out of range.
Nakamara dives in for a single leg takedown but Silver sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Nakamara breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silver lands a glancing blow to the side of Nakamara's head.

Silver tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nakamara was well out of range. Poor timing from Silver.

Johnny Silver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshido Nakamara.
Silver connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Nakamara drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silver lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Silver.
Nakamara looks to land a combination. Silver sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silver throws an overhand right that drops Nakamara like a sack of potatoes! Silver dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
